They say your not supposed to donate items that you wouldn’t give to a friend. I can understand that. Who what’s a shirt that is covered in stains? Or has an unsightly hole? Well instead of tossing them in the garbage, why not cut them into small scraps & use them to make a wreath?
First cut the fabric into long strips. You’ll just need them long enough to be able to tie around the width of the wreath.
Then start tying them around the wreath . Do this until the entire wreath is covered. .
Now glue them directly to the wreath.
Done!
Its kind of a fun way to hold on to some of those cute baby clothes or any cute clothing item that may not have made it to become a hand-me-down. Now you don’t have to toss them! Make them into a keep sake!
Want to laugh ? Know what I made mine from? Undies!! Don’t worry …they’re NEW undies! Here’s the story…..I bought this cute package of undies for my 5 yr old. Well, I threw them in the wash not thinking they wouldn’t work out. Unfortunately they shrunk & didn’t fit. So I couldn’t just toss them? Now my youngest has this cute little wreath hanging in her room! Her response…. “For me? How cute!! Wait…..are those my undies?” He he he !!

i like that idea! because there's definitely clothes that are sentimental. neat!
ReplyDeleteI love wreaths but for some reason have never made one for us. I like this idea for recycling old clothes or for using up any scraps.
ReplyDeleteHappy Earth Day to you and family
ReplyDeleteLove this idea! What memories, all in a wreath!
ReplyDeleteI misread "undies" as "onsies" [remember those] and I thought to myself "Do they make onsies for 5 year olds. And if they do why?"
ReplyDeletegiggle - sorry I am a little tired.
The wreath is so cute and the undies were put to great use.
That is hysterical!!! I love the idea!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea to use up those clothes that just don't meet "thrift" standards. One can never have too many wreaths. Can one? ;)
ReplyDeletevery cute! i love using the baby clothes to make one. what a great way to "keep" those items forever.
ReplyDeleteI love it, what a great way to use left over clothing. I've always wondered what to do with the things that aren't good enough to donate, thank you!
ReplyDeleteooh, very cool! You are so creative!

ReplyDeleteVery cute. I might have to try it with old crib sheets. I have held on to them knowing that some great idea will come to me...
ReplyDeleteholy cow * that's cute! good job mama * *
ReplyDeleteAdorable!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! Great idea. Now you have given me the notion to use hubby's favorite flannel with holes init ;-) It IS sentimental to see that flannel and see him. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteSweet Wreath! Love this idea.
ReplyDeleteOh so CUTE!!!! Regardless of the material;))
ReplyDeleteI want to try to send you pictures of your crafts you inspired me to do. Maybe when this weekend is finished...
Happy Easter :)
You always have the cutest craft ideas. I love that you made these out of undies. That so funny! It's so cute!
ReplyDeleteAnother cute idea. Unfortunately for me, we have a lot of white briefs around our house. My teenage daughter might not appreciate her undies out there. (Smile). Hope you have a very happy easter with your family. I was looking at your home, and I have done exactly the same thing when it comes to painting on unstable things to reach a high area. If there's a possiblity, I will find a way!
ReplyDeleteI always save old clothes when I like the fabric, and then don't know what to do with the tiny shirts and skirts! This is a great idea!!
ReplyDeleteFantastic! I just posted a few yarn wreathes I made but now I'm going to be digging through the trash bags in my attic for old clothes and make a cool wreath like yours. Great idea!
