"Heartfelt" jewelry

My daughters recently asked if I could some how save a special flower they picked. We talked about drying it, or even pressing it. But how would they be able to share this flower? Anyone with kids knows that "sharing" can be almost impossible sometimes! So I came up with a way to use the petals that all of us loved.......jewelry!

I found some really fun new Mod Podge Dimensional Magic. It gives the same effect of using a resin, but with out all the chemicals! Also I found some small pendents that would work well for a necklace(for the girls) or earrings (for me!).
First, using the tips of the petals from the flower, I shaped them in to a heart.
Next, using a little regular Mod Podge, I dabbed some glue using a small paint brush.
Then with the help of a few tooth pics, gently place the petals in the middle of the pendent.
Now just fill up the pendent with the Mod Podge Dimensional Magic glue!
Tip: squeaze a little glue out before filling. This helps get any little air bubbles.
Now let dry for at least 24 hours.
The petals took on a whole new look. This worked out so well that I can't wait to try some new things with this! I have so many ideas :)
The girls loved their new necklaces & I love my new earrings :D

Don't forget to check out other great hearts from around the world!!

Something different for your Valentine

Here’s something fun to do with those paint strip samples you probably have laying around. Any color will work, but since Valentines day is on the way I decided to use shades of pink.
You’ll need a paper paint sample, yarn, heart punch , hole punch, and some fun stickers.
First use the heart shape punch on the top or bottom color square. Then with the heart that has been punched out, use the circular hole punch at the bottom . Now with the yarn ,tie it to the open shape on square .

Next have fun & decorate!

Addy made one for her sister. She had so much fun creating hers, I decided to use this idea for her class party craft. I’ve been collecting them every time I hit the stores. I won’t tell you which ones…..I don’t want them to find out why they’re suddenly missing all their pink samples!!!
Great book! Thanks Desert Canyon Living!
This would also make a sweet gift for that crafter or decorator in your life. Everyone should have an extra book mark around!

I entered this fun Idea at......

There are so many cute Valentine Ideas there! If I only had more hours in the day!!!
