Travel Tuesday.....1840's Farm & Inn

Though this travel Tuesday won't take us a very far distance in miles, we do get to travel back in time a bit!
This Sunday my Aunt Barb & Uncle Steve invited us to join them at Garfield Farm for the “Rare Breeds Show”. The main reason for going to this show? Getting to be there when they picked out baby chickens for their farm!

Everyone gathering around to see all the babies!

Getting them out & ready to go home....

In the box & ready for the car ride!

Awww....so cute :)
The girls were so excited to see all the baby chicks. And knowing that some of them were going to go home to Aunt Barb & Uncle Steve's farm was the most exciting part!
We’ve been talking about having our own urban coop. This is just adding fuel to the fire : ) Maybe next year we’ll have a few of our own! Have you seen some of these backyard coops?

And this last one.......
WOW!
Its fun to dream :D

I bet the girls were excited. Baby chicks are irresistable.

Sounds like a fun day. :)

How fun that your girls can now visit and see the growth and development of those chickens whenever they visit now. :) My sister-in-law wants chickens so I'm kind of excited to see if they get them.

We have baby chicks hatching here - so much fun!
Our coop is not nearly so fancy!

More and more cities are allowing people to keep chickens. They can be fun but also a lot of work.Have you ever scooped out a coop? It can be a bit slippery.I would like to have one of each breed.

I love to drive down a certain street here because they have a cool chicken coop, kind of like the second picture there. A girl can dream...

These coops are cuter than many people houses I've seen! (and after writing that... I just saw Dawn's comment!). Blow that last one up and it could be my dream home. ;)

Wow, those are fantastic coops!!!
We love Garfield! I remember many a field trip there as a kid! haha!!
Geneva is one of my all time favorite towns, I could be biased as I am from there and we spend each and every weekend out that way still! LOL!

Hahaha, A small world indeed!! It's amazing the people we 'meet' in blogland!

They're so cute when they're small and how amazing is that last chicken coop, it's more like a palace. Lucky chickens who get to live there :-)

Um, my Grandma lived on a farm and raised chickens. Lots of them. Those chicken coops look so cute nice and clean for the pictures, but I know what really happens in them. Chicks are so fun and cute, but they turn into chickens. That last coop is too cute. Those people must have a real love affair with their chickens to give them such a nice home. Wow! Hope the girls had fun on the farm.

I would love to get chickens too. Our neighbor town can't have them (so dumb), but we can.
