Wreath Tutorial & GIVE-A-AWAY!!

Enter to win a Vintage Book Page wreath!
One of my favorite items to make are my vintage book page wreaths. Since November I have made well over 100 of them & have shipped them world wide. After Jennifer Forker of the Associated Press ask to interview me about my process of making them, I realized I should post a new tutorial. ( I was featured in an article that also included Marcie McGoldrick from Martha Stewart Living….yea , I about peed my pants!)

I’ve made a few changes since that first one back in August. Its faster, easier & so much more prettier too.

You’ll need an old book, foam or wood wreath form, glue gun, glue sticks, and small cut ribbon for the wreath to hang on.

Tie ribbon to back of wreath. If using a foam wreath, tie ribbon loop & glue to back.
Tear about half of the book pages out from the book. Fold into an “S” shape.

Glue bottom of the “S”. Then glue the bottom side of the edge & press to wreath form.

Continue around the entire back side until full.
Then flip over and start on the front. Work your way around folding and gluing the same way. When applying pages to the sides of wreath, give the bottom of the page a slight fold to make it even with the rest of the pages. You could even cut the pages slightly shorter if that’s easier for you.

When you’ve reached the center, glue the “S” fold page directly to the middle. Continue around the center until full.

Now stand back & look to see if any areas need more fullness. Add pages in all the areas that need more “fluff”. Your done! Depending on book page size, the wreath ends up about 18 -21 inches wide.
I still love making these! Finding books & ripping them apart is so much fun! I always get my books from thrift stores & the older the better. They have a nice yellowing to the pages. There’s so many fun ways to use these. Hang them , a center piece, shape them to a heart for a wedding or Valentines day! ( I’ll share those later. )

Want to win one? Just leave a comment & I’ll put you in the raffle ! I’ll announce the winner Wednesday February 16th. Good luck!!!

Oh goodness yes... I'd love to be in the raffle! I agree with texwisgirl - you're famous! Congratulations, Trisha. You are an inspiration to me. I've recently wanted to give up on something I do well (my own "vintage book wreath" of sorts), but your post has spurred me on. :D

I don't think I could do it justice though...but if I were to win one...yay...I wouldn't have to totally dishonor your tutorial by making one of my own that wouldn't look at all like yours. (subliminal message here) LOL ;) Have a great day girlie!! :)

I shall have to pass this on. I think you need a You Tube post for them, there are tons of crafting tutorials on it.

Out on the prairie- Funny you say that..I'm actually going to do a few different tutorials for youtube. My dad has a production comp. & is helping me out on that. Now I just have to find the time to film it too :)

Thanks everyone for your kind words :) Giveaways are just so much fun!

I love it. I made one of these and I folded the pages much smaller. It took me hours. I love how your pages flow. Great job.
