Blizzard update

Well, this is the door this morning……
Here’s our friends house across the street…….

Thats not a blurry picture...that's blowing snow this morning.

That's the view form the other side of our back door.
Since our neighborhood is still unfinished & we have tons of open space. That space is so great in the summer ,filled with wildflowers & butterflies. But with all this snow it just makes it so easy for snow to fly threw here. So many snow drifts!

The road is just past the tree.
Later today we’re supposed to have dangerous temps, so we figured we better get out there and play for a little bit. We made it for about 20mins. But when do you ever get a chance to be taller then your swing set!!!
Trying to smile in the wind!
Where is my husband you ask? Well let me explain our love/hate relationship with snow. My husband is a Landscape designer. He loves his job & is very good at it : ) But what does a company like that do when the planting seasons over? Snow removal. Yep , he’s been stuck at the office since yesterday dispatching plows to different accounts. I don’t know when he’ll be home with us : (     Hopefully by Friday.

We’re far enough out side the city that lake effect snow isn’t usually a problem for us. But with this crazy wind ,we also have been getting the lake effect as well & more is on the way. My sister & her husband live right downtown Chicago & I can’t wait to see some of her pics later today.

Yep! I got a turn in the "hamster wheel" !!
In the mean time we’ll play inside for now. Maybe we’ll get another snow day tomorrow? I think we’ll try to get some fun projects done. Or maybe we’ll just play!!
I know that some of you are having some crazy weather as well. Hope everyone is safe & warm!!! : )

Glad you got out to play in those snow heaps for a while! Wow! Hopefully all that snow will help insulate that back door a bit for you against the cold winds. NE Texas got down to low teens overnight and will stay in 20s today. But at least the wind has cut back a bit since yesterday! Stay warm and have fun with those 2 cuties!

Those pictures are amazing. I have never been in snow like that. Being from the Sunshine State snow is a novelty to me. My poor sons have never even seen snow. Have fun and be safe.

Oh my goodness! That's crazy! In Oregon the sun is shining today... it's weird to think that elsewhere in the country people are living in feet of snow! I hope you stay warm!

What a door! I talked to my mom this morning in Naperville, and honestly, I didn't believe a word she said about the snow. ;) But now I do!! Good grief!

It's amazing. Thanks for the pictures. What a treat. You girls look like you're having so much fun. Here... not much snow but freezing temps. Stay warm!

Lisa- Your boys would love this!! It was so hard to get the girls back in. But the wind pretty much blew them back inside!

Allison- Your mom lives not far from us! I grew up in Geneva. We now live about 25 mins west of there. What a small world!

It looks like my neighborhood. One plant was closed today and they came and did my 75 year old neighbors, refusing payment. I would have given them 50.It took 2 hours just to do my little drive and some paths in my backyard.

I think you need to take that big ball out in the snow. ;)

Your weather reminds me of when I lived in Newfoundland -- snow up to the roof at times. So much fun!

Hope you hubby gets home safely.
