Loveable Garland

Trying to come up with different ideas to decorate for Valentines day, we decided to change up our usual heart garland. It seems like each year we make this & put it away. This year I changed it up a bit.
Using a pre-made heart shape for a guide I traced it on to red & pink paper. After cutting out the shapes , we made 2 piles- one pink, one red.

Using the hole punch, I punched 2 holes in the middle of the heart. This allows you to easily string each heart.

Now with your ribbon cut to the length of the garland you want, thread each heart and slide it down to make room for the next.

What we changed this year is adding a message to each heart. You could have everyone write one each day, or just sit down together & add all the ones you can think of.

Then hang it up! We had a lot of fun doing this together. Most of our “loveable messages” were so sweet & thoughtful.  But if you have a husband who is sometimes like a third child …beware!

My 9 yr old didn’t not come up with that one on her own! And no, Addy & I don’t love yellow snow  : )

I linked up my craft idea to .....

As I looked at the pictures, it came to me that your girls are so blessed to have such a creative Mom. What wonderful childhood memories you are making for them.--Inger

The best decorations aren't the ones you buy at the store -- but you know that. :)

Such a cute idea for Valentine's Day.

Darling idea. Hmmmm, the wheels are turning in my head. Any ideas for what to do for hubby? I've decided to get up early when he usually does and make him a hot bacon and eggs breakfast. :)
